Crafter’s Block?

I finished my socks for my mom and they came out beautifully!  I’m so excited to give them to her this weekend for her birthday.  Now that they’re done, I don’t know what to knit next! I have a cardigan that needs a button band, but it needs to be re-blocked and I kind of lost my mojo with that cardigan.

I have no doubt that when this cardigan is finally finished it will be my favourite.  At least, that’s what everyone is telling me, haha.  The pattern is Central Park Hoodie from Interweave Knits.
I have some really beautiful yarn sitting in my yarn closet that I can’t wait to use. I’ve thought about shawls, or hats, and I’m even considering starting on another pair of socks. I don’t know. Nothing seems to be jumping out at me. Do any of you crafters our there experience this? If so, how do you get past it?

About Kerrilynn

I love all things arts and crafts related, including (but not limited to) fine arts such as photography, watercolors/chinese brush painting, pastels both oil and soft; fiber arts such as knitting, crocheting, and spinning. I have a few obsessions such as fountain pens, all things steampuck, penguins, and all things nail polish and nail art related! I also have a rare genetic connective tissue disease that affects collagen production in the body called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). Having a chronic illness takes up a lot of my time and even feels like it's a full time job just to keep track of everything (Dr's appts, symptoms, meds, etc.). However, it's not my whole life. I started my blogs to showcase my many hobbies as well as bring awareness to rare illnesses.

    All the time, Kerrilyn!
To get over that horrible feeling of uh-oh, now what, I’ve got several scrap books of things I’ve torn out of magazines that I’ve thought ‘hmmmm I could make something like THAT.’ I mean not to copy off, but …well to get an idea…I usually think about how I could change something mainstream and popular at the time so it’s eco friendly…or hand made…giving it a different slant. If I stare at things for long enough, ideas DO start springing into my mashed up little mind!
Good Luck! Love that cardigan by the way 🙂
